Well, let’s get the formalities out of the way and take a look at this new cover for Bizarro Pulp Press and Journalstone’s upcoming TALES OF UNSPEAKABLE TASTE, from the poison pen (tainted typewriter? killer keyboard?) of John Bruni:Continue reading “TALES OF UNSPEAKABLE TASTE cover and other news”
This year has been a Living Hell, but some damned fine work has reared its head.
Case in point, Sara Tantlinger’s CRADLELAND OF PARASITES, which becomes available in a trade paperback edition on Halloween. And, in the spirit of the impending “Spooky Season” we present to you the full wrap for her latest dive into darkness.
Hope you enjoy…
Here’s a look at the full wrap for Andrew J. Stone’s (ALL HAIL THE HOUSE GODS and THE MORTUARY MONSTER) newest book, THE ULTIMATE DINOSAUR DANCE-OFF, coming next month from Journalstone and Bizarro Pulp Press.
Check it oooooout:
We don’t talk nearly enough about our collaborative work with Journalstone, specifically in regards to their imprint, Bizarro Pulp Press. We acquire titles and run production for these books, 4-to-6 titles per year, for release under Journalstone’s “Bizarro” outfit. We do this because we love the genre and we love the imprint. Our goal is simple: good books.
June is drawing to a close. It’s been a rough month, no doubt, but let’s share some GOOD STUFF. There’s been a big lack of good stuff lately.
First, a reminder that the absolutely beautiful special edition of Sara Tantlinger’s CRADLELAND OF PARASITES is up for pre-order on July 1st. That’s only a couple days away! There’s only going to be 100 of these made available for purchase and I’d be surprised if we still have any left by the end of July. We’ll post something more official on Wednesday.
Feast your eyes below on two gorgeous covers for two gorgeous books!
LEVELS, by Karl Fischer, is wrapping production as I write this, however, Ronald J. Murray’s CRIES TO KILL THE CORPSE FLOWER is now available for pre-order! And, as always, if you buy direct from JournalStone then you will receive an e-copy with your order, and the e-copy is available to read immediately. Also, check out this interview with Ronald over at Gwendolyn Kiste’s website, where they talk about his collection.
Well, what an extremely interesting spring it has turned out to be! Challenging, perhaps a bit hectic, but also fairly rewarding. NOT ALL MONSTERS special editions have sold rather well, especially since we decided to release the title without much in the way of marketing or fanfare, but we felt it necessary and best for the book.
Firstly, many congratulations go out to all who woke up, this morning, and found themselves on the Bram Stoker Awards preliminary ballot. And, of course, a very special congratulations to frequent Strangehouse Books/Rooster Republic Press collaborator, Sara Tantlinger. Her novella, To Be Devoured, has found itself on the list and in some very good company.
Speaking of Tantlinger, we are excited to show you the full wrap for our hardcover version of Not All Monsters! Read on, read on…
Allow us to address this article’s headline in reverse order.
New Kink Books started out as a promising imprint, and for a solid year-plus the naughty line of titles performed as well as any sales we had through Rooster Republic or Strangehouse Books. There were even quarters when sales from New Kink exceeded the more traditional lines. But now it is largely unresponsive. We poked it with the best and biggest stick we could find. Call the time, doc! And grab a body bag…
New Kink Books is a dead imprint.
