MY BFF SATAN: Commission Complete

Kyle Rader has been a blast to work with, not only because I have a thing for the satanic panic era but just because of the approach of the book itself – a heart warming comedy from what I understand. Plus, he’s just easy to get along with and the project went smooth as hell. We ended up doing a minimalist approach for the cover, and when he brought up the idea of a doing a book trailer, I knew I had to try to match the cover to the animation. It made the project even more fun.

Four New Cover Art Pieces

Last week was marked by some type of cold/flu that wouldn’t quit, so Friday night, not being able to sleep and with a bottle of Nyquil at my side, I distracted myself by making some pre-made covers. I wanted to try some different approaches with these, all but one (The Fury) are new takes. I try to keep things fresh each week by introducing different variations, partly for fun, partly to keep from exhausting one particular out.

In a whirlwind, fueled by October and horror and espresso, I cranked out these three pieces yesterday like a man possessed. Commission Complete: Adam Millard and Bloodshot Books

I’ve been working with Pete Kahle for almost a year now through his press Bloodshot Books, and I’ve been privileged to work with Adam Millard a couple times in the past. Luckily, I’ve gotten to meet them both by doing various shows across the country, (Adam once won a prize at a Bizarro Showdown by waxing his own chest while telling jokes and was gifted a giant rubber fist for his performance)  and it’s always a pleasure joining up with people who have such a passion for horror. Pete has been a staple in my freelancing, and has been a blessing to work with. Both of these guys have a great track record of interesting projects and they’re definitely worth following. Not All Monsters: Art Reveal

A piece created late last night, an interior image for the upcoming NOT ALL MONSTERS anthology coming through our imprint Strangehouse Books in 2020. This piece, titled Iron Angel, is part of a series that will be found in a special edition of the anthology, and will also be available as prints and posters and various other designs.
