Omens is a series of surreal images, released twice a month, with one particular goal – inspiration for writers, a simple story prompt.
The boy says she comes at night
crawls across the ceiling
like a bug he says, a spider
from a crack in the plaster
she comes and goes
she whispers things he cannot comprehend
I find him
sitting up, on the edge of his bed
he turns and smiles
and raises his palm to me
“She brought me something this time, Dad.”
A glint of something sharp in the dim light
“She says mommy has to go.”
