OH LORD IT’S FRIDAY AGAIN; Merchandise Updates; Bizarro Pulp Press Pitches

It's almost October and... We. Are. Terrified!

Well, hello there!

We are heading into the last weekend of September, a fact that has us vomiting on our own clocks. Time is such a villain. And time always wins. Unless you’re an immortal! But, Don and Nick definitely lean to the mortal side of things. Just two sad meats, trying to do Sisyphus justice.

Now, this spooky season has one half of the Rooster Republic team picking up stakes and venturing out for greener pastures. So, posts may be a bit shorter than usual. We will still try to be folksy and entertaining, though. Albeit, briefly.

We revamped the website a few months ago. Part of our big revamp was to add some merchandise. Some of those items have gone over extremely well, and some… well, some haven’t sold at all. No biggie and, if we are being honest, totally expected.

As we enter the final months of 2021, we are taking stock of what folks have responded to and what they have ignored. Obviously, items people seem to like will stick around. The other stuff? Bye-bye, other stuff.

In addition to removing low-performing items, we will also be discontinuing merchandise tied to 2021 releases. If you think you are interested in picking up shirts, posters or stickers that tie in to this year’s releases, then you have till the end of December to grab what you want. These items will be removed from the site by January 1st.

Here’s a list of related books whose merchandise will be going:

QUEEN OF TEETH

CRIMSON KING

IN CONTROL

THE RUN FANTASTIC

NOT ALL MONSTERS

This discontinued merchandise will be replaced by tie-in merch for the following upcoming releases:

CHROMOPHOBIA

OMENS

OCTOBER ANIMALS

As well, Don Noble and Nicholas Day have discussed releasing limited designs for t-shirts in 2022. We will roll out this experiment in the first quarter of the year. If we get a good response (i.e. if this stuff sells), then we will continue offering limited merch going forward. If it falls flat, then the brakes will get pumped pretty fast. Simple as that.

Lastly, the pitch window for Bizarro Pulp Press is quickly approaching!

On September 29th and 30th, BIPOC authors can submit a logline (25 words max) along with a three-sentence synopsis (250 words max) and manuscript word count to: roosterrepublicpress@gmail.com

Pitches will be read over the 2nd and 3rd of October and any manuscript requests will be made on the 4th of October. If you are not contacted on the 4th of October, then we have passed on your pitch.

As always, thanks for reading and remember to:
