July 5th! We are now tumbling through to the end of the year, if you can believe it.
Each week, through July, we will be revisiting one of the upcoming titles we acquired for Journalstone’s Bizarro Pulp Press. This week, allow us to share with you Ronald J. Murray’s upcoming poetry collection, LOST LETTERS TO A LOVER’S CARCASS, which you can pre-order direct from the publisher, HERE. And when you pre-order a trade paperback, you’ll get an e-version with the order!
But, before we jump into that, we want to take a moment to congratulate Ronald J. Murray on his recent Elgin Award nomination. This recognition is for his previous poetry collection, CRIES TO KILL THE CORPSE FLOWER (which also appeared on the HWA’s Prelim Ballot for the 2020 Bram Stoker Awards®), also from Bizarro Pulp Press. The title was one of the very first we acquired for the Journalstone imprint, and we couldn’t be happier for both author and book. Congratulations, again, to Ronald and all the other nominees.
You can pick up a copy of CRIES TO KILL THE CORPSE FLOWER direct from Journalstone, HERE.
Fittingly, LOST LETTERS TO A LOVER’S CARCASS is a bit of a “spiritual sequel” to Murray’s previous collection, described as a “…partly blind pining for dead, false love once given by a monster that even dark magic cannot resurrect. It is the metaphorical justice wrought unto a traitor hanged, drawn, and quartered through its words. And it is, finally, the realization of a new dawn, where sunlight opens the eyes to a wider world.”
Heavy, beautiful stuff throughout, both deeply emotional and packed with intense imagery. And we must say that we are very interested in seeing the reception to this volume of poetry, as we believe it to be every bit as good, if not better, than his previous collection. LOST LETTERS TO A LOVER’S CARCASS releases on July 30th. Don’t miss this one if you are a fan of dark poetry.

And that is it for this week! Be sure to join us next Monday (July 12th) when we take a look at what we think will be the big Bizarro release of 2021, Luke Kondor’s THE RUN FANTASTIC. Stay tuned, and thanks for reading!
And, remember to always…
