Firstly, many congratulations go out to all who woke up, this morning, and found themselves on the Bram Stoker Awards preliminary ballot. And, of course, a very special congratulations to frequent Strangehouse Books/Rooster Republic Press collaborator, Sara Tantlinger. Her novella, To Be Devoured, has found itself on the list and in some very good company.
Speaking of Tantlinger, we are excited to show you the full wrap for our hardcover version of Not All Monsters! Read on, read on…
Not All Monsters will be published as three different editions: a special-edition hardcover, complete with full-color interior art, ONLY available direct through Rooster Republic; a paperback version of the special edition, complete with full-color art; an Amazon-edition, without the interior art and featuring a different cover. Pricing and availability will be coming in the next couple of weeks. As well, we’ve received many enthusiastic requests to read and review the book, for which we’re extremely grateful. It looks like Not All Monsters may be getting big support, and that’s truly the most important ingredient to any successful release. We are definitely looking forward to everyone’s thoughts about this long-gestating project.
And so, here is the first official look at the special edition’s dust jacket. Personally, we are pretty happy with how it turned out. What do you think?
In other news, work continues on the subsequent editions of Not All Monsters, with art and details to be released over the next few months. And there ought to be some noise in February, in celebration of “Women in Horror” month.
Edits for K.P. Kulski’s Fairest Flesh have landed in our inbox, so we’re looking forward to that. Fairest Flesh is a beautiful (and bloody) read and we’re excited to share more about Kulski’s debut in the near-future. And the upcoming collection of horror poetry, Cradleland of Parasites, is being worked on by the aforementioned Sara Tantlinger, as a follow-up to her Stoker Award-winning The Devil’s Dreamland.
And Don Noble and Nicholas Day are both overseeing several titles for Bizarro Pulp Press in 2020. Contracts have gone out, and we are happy to say that the Journalstone imprint will be releasing books by Karl Fischer, Andrew James Stone, Ronald J. Murray, and John Bruni. We’ll be talking about the Bizarro Pulp Press titles a little more, next week.
Until then, we just want to, again, say congratulations to all those creatives who made it onto the HWA’s Stoker preliminary ballot!
