Here we are, the first Friday of September 2021. We are still expecting quite a few pitches at the end of the month, so we hope you’ve been sharpening your weirdest stuff! Now, for those of you who frequent this site, then the following will look familiar. However, we felt it best to repost our Bizarro Pulp Press submissions call, one last time.
For the 2022 Bizarro Pulp Press roster, we are looking exclusively for material from BIPOC authors. We want people to go as big and as wild as their heart desires. Big, weird Horror. Big, weird Bizarro. Big, weird Science Fiction. Big, weird Romance. You get the idea.
As with previous years, we are looking for a very, very select few titles to acquire for next year’s lineup of books. Only 4 titles will be selected.
The following is from Nicholas Day, head of acquisitions for Bizarro Pulp Press:
“Manuscripts must be completed in order to submit, as authors will be contacted in very quick turnaround. Pitches will be read over the 2nd and 3rd of October and any manuscript requests will be made on the 4th of October. If you are not contacted on the 4th of October, then we have passed on your pitch.
If you aren’t ready, do not submit. I cannot stress this enough.
Works can be as short as 15K and up to 30K words. These are firm numbers. Do not send anything shorter or longer, it will not be considered. Please, familiarize yourself with Bizarro Pulp Press and cross-genre literature.
Your submission MUST include a logline, synopsis, and word count. Any submission missing these items will not be considered. Submissions are open exclusively to any and all BIPOC members of the writing community. These submissions are for publication consideration via Bizarro Pulp Press only.“
On September 29th and 30th, you can submit a logline (25 words max) along with a three-sentence synopsis (250 words max) and manuscript word count to: firstname.lastname@example.org
ALL THREE OF THE ABOVE ITEMS MUST BE INCLUDED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED.
